UnitingCare’s Sunways on Wendouree Parade, Ballarat saw the redesign and renovation of the aged care accommodation facility. The 34 existing studio apartments were converted into 17 independent one-bedroom apartments and two of the apartments were AS1428 compliant. The project also converted an outdated commercial kitchen facility and communal living space into an administration area featuring three offices, an open-plan office space and kitchen facility to meet current building regulations. The project included total refurbishment to floors, walls, ceilings, new kitchens, bathrooms, external stacker doors to private courtyards and new fire services including fire sprinklers, smoke detection and fire panels.
